We are now casting for 1 female lead and 2 supporting actors (1 female, 1 male) for a DRAMA in our One Axe Spring Industry Showcase. We are specifically looking for a Latina actress for the lead but are open to others if it’s the right fit.
Auditions will take place on MONDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 8–10pm. Location: TBA.
Please reply (or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org), including your headshot in jpg, your preferred time slot, the role you’re auditioning for, and full contact information. We will send you the full script and the sides you should prepare. Our Spring Showcase takes place on the evening of March 28, so please do not audition if you cannot commit to that date. Rehearsals are flexible and will be determined by the director. As always, this will not be a time-consuming affair.
If this role doesn’t speak to you, we will have exponential casting opportunities in the future, but we would greatly appreciate if you would circulate to any interested parties who would be a good fit.

Logline: Based on a memoir, SPELL tells the story of a girl’s love affair with words and the teacher who taught them.
WENDY (will be played by adult woman who can adopt the postures of a younger girl, as story is told in remembrance from a later time): 14 years old, light goth (or goth lite), Mexican-American, private school student.
GRANDMOTHER/MOTHER/MISS ANN (one actress to oscillate among 3 characters, not a heavy speaking role, but requires physicality):
72 years old, heavy-set, “guera,” 49 years old, city worker, smoker, dresses up, red lipstick, not very comfortable in social situations other than work, and an elementary school teacher.
TEACHER (not a heavy speaking role, but requires physicality): 29 years old, Caucasian, blazer and a tie when teaching, gregarious, charming, inappropriate to the max.
